Laparotomy

  

    

Procedure by which entry is made into the  abdominal cavity either to examine, explore or perform surgical procedures on any of the very many structures in the cavity. Abdominal cavity can be approached from the peritoneal cavity through an anterior abdominal wall  or through the retroperitoneum via the posterior abdominal wall.

Layer 12- layer of posterior abdominal wall. Layer 13 - layer of deep posterior abdominal wall. Layer 14 - layer of bones of abdominal region.
