AXILLARY LYMPH NODES

 

GROUP: Upper limb nodes

LOCATION: In the axilla

DIVISIONS:

Lateral group

Anterior group

Posterior (subscapular) group

Central group

Apical group

DRAINAGE: They drain the whole of the upper extremity and pass to the subclavian trunk, which ends in the thoracic  duct on the left, but to the junction between the right subclavian vein and the internal jugular vein on the right or to either of these right vessels. Sometimes it has a right lymphatic duct that receives this trunk.
