SACROCOCCYGEAL JOINTS

 

Joint animation

DESCRIPTION: This joint articulation is between the vertebral bodies of sacrum and the coccyx. It is therefore between apex of sacrum and base of coccyx. It has a fibrocartilage between the articulating surfaces, making it a symphysis (cf symphysis pubis).

MOVEMENTS: Movement is limited to rotation.
