CIRCUMFLEX SCAPULAR ARTERY

ORIGIN:  Subscapular artery from axillary artery

COURSE/DISTRIBUTION: Part of scapular anastomosis. Takes origin from the subscapular artery 4 cm from the origin of subscapular artery from the axillary artery. It enters the infraspinous fossa under the teres minor. It then divides into its two terminal branches. One is the infrascapular branch which enters the subscapular fossa, deep to the subscapularis.

BRANCHES: Terminal branches which take part in the scapular anastomosis.

Layers 1- skin; 2- fasciae, including breast 3- superficial muscles, 4 pectoralis minor/clavipectoral fascia layer and axillary artery, 5- layer of brachial plexus and subscapularis, 6 layer of joints  7 layer of bones
